Serves: 6-8

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf of Italian baguette or French bread (the loafs I use are typically 15 to 18 inches long, I used a thin baguette because that is what I have on hand but typically I use a 5 to 6 inch wide loaf of bread)
  • 1 stick butter, softened (you could use as little as ½ stick butter depending on the size of your loaf)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt (if you have fresh garlic, you can use 2 cloves of finely minced garlic)
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley (if you have fresh parsley, finely chop 2 teaspoons fresh parsley)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Mozzarella
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Slice your loaf of bread lengthwise so that you have two long pieces to work with.
  3. Place the softened butter in a small bowl and stir in the garlic, parsley and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Using a knife or spatula, spread the butter mixture over the bread.
  5. Place each half crust side down on a baking sheet covered in aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
  6. Top with shredded Mozzarella cheese and place the bread back in the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
  7. Slice up and enjoy!
