Every cookie tray needs a holiday candy to compliment it. These Crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bon Bons are a fun addition to any cookie tray!
When the kids and I made these this week, I could not stop eating them! They remind me of a crispy Buckeye. And since I am not an Ohio State fan, I would say these are better! 😉
I did double the batch out of the start because I knew they would be a hit with the kids and I am glad I did. If you plan on gifting some, just double the batch!
These Crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bon Bons are not just for the Christmas, but could be enjoyed all year long! I have made these into egg shapes for Easter and we enjoy the candy during anytime I need a quick and easy treat.
Crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bon Bon

2 cups creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
3 cups confectioner sugar
2 1/2 cups rice krispie cereal
12 oz. chocolate almond bark (I purchased in a 24 oz. bar and used half)
1/3 cup white baking chips or white almond bark
1 tsp. shortening
Directions
- In a large saucepan, melt the peanut butter and butter over low heat. Stir to combine and when melted remove from stove.
- Gradually beat in confectioners’ sugar until smooth. Stir in cereal and mix until well combined.
- Line a flat baking sheet with wax paper. Shape the mixture into 1 inch balls. Refrigerate until chilled.
- In the microwave, melt your almond bark as instructed on package; stir until smooth. I melted about 12 oz. of chocolate bark per recipe. Dip balls into chocolate; allow excess to drip off. Place on a waxed paper-lined pan. Let stand until the chocolate is set.
- Microwave and melt the white baking chips and shortening. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over the candies. Refrigerate until they are set.
Notes
- Reduced-fat peanut butter is not recommended.
