Chocolate Snowball Cookie

This recipe for Chocolate Snowball cookies has always been in recipe box and I have no idea where it came from. When I need a chocolate cookie recipe it is my go to!

I let both kids pick a cookie to bake with me on Sunday and chocolate was Nora’s obvious choice. As I pulled this recipe out of my recipe box she lit up as she loves chocolate, like her momma.

These cookies are a real treat for the kids and they have been enjoying these cookies with a large glass of milk! These have been Nora’s favorite cookie this year and we are excited to make them again.

These are similar to a traditional chocolate crinkle cookie but the recipes are a bit different!

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter

• 1/3 cup cocoa powder

• 1 cup sugar

• 2 eggs

• 2 tsp. vanilla

• 1 tsp. baking powder

• 1 1/2 cups flour

• powdered sugar

Directions

• In a small microwaveable bowl, melt butter. Mix in the cocoa powder and stir well to combine. Set aside and allow to cool.
• In a mixing bowl, beat together the sugar and eggs for 2 minutes with an electric mixer. Add in the butter and chocolate mixture and mix well.
• Add in the remaining ingredients, vanilla, baking powder and flour mixing until smooth.
• Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.
• Preheat oven to 350°. Shape and roll into 1 inch balls and roll in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking pan. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes until tops are crackled.
