Now I know this seems like a basic recipe and to me it is second nature but I always get asked how I make my Cheesy Garlic Bread so here it is! I never use a recipe so I had to write it down. I make my garlic bread in a variety of ways but this is my favorite way. The cheesy, crispy bread is just delicious with any meal, but I mostly make this with Italian dishes or pasta or as a snack. 😉
Also you can cut back on the butter, I typically just use however much butter I have softened at the time. I have used as little as 1/2 stick and as much as 1 stick for one loaf or two halves of bread.

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of Italian baguette or French bread (the loafs I use are typically 15 to 18 inches long, I used a thin baguette because that is what I have on hand but typically I use a 5 to 6 inch wide loaf of bread)
- 1 stick butter, softened (you could use as little as ½ stick butter depending on the size of your loaf)
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt (if you have fresh garlic, you can use 2 cloves of finely minced garlic)
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley (if you have fresh parsley, finely chop 2 teaspoons fresh parsley)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup shredded Mozzarella
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
- Slice your loaf of bread lengthwise so that you have two long pieces to work with.
- Place the softened butter in a small bowl and stir in the garlic, parsley and Parmesan cheese.
- Using a knife or spatula, spread the butter mixture over the bread.
- Place each half crust side down on a baking sheet covered in aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
- Top with shredded Mozzarella cheese and place the bread back in the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Slice up and enjoy!
