These are one of my husbands favorite bar cookies. And as you can see below, there may be some other hands in our family that keep their fingers off these cookies.
With lots of butter, these rich Blondies are packed full of flavor, and they are also full of gooey, melty chocolate. Enjoy these with a glass of cold milk.
While you can simply add in one type of chocolate I like the combine the three for the look and taste! Another thing I tend to do as not everyone cares for nuts is to sprinkle the walnuts of top of half of the Blondies. That way I have half without and half with. You can easily take them out and won’t even miss them.
I hope you enjoy these recipes for my 30 Days of Dairy!
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt
- 1½ sticks (3/4 cup) butter, melted
- 1½ cups packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup dark chocolate chips
- ⅓ cup milk chocolate chips
- ⅓ cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup walnuts, chopped
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. You can line the pan with parchment paper and butter the paper if you desire. I tend to skip this step!
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt together and set aside.
- In an electric mixing bowl, beat the melted butter and brown sugar together until combined with medium speed. Add in the vanilla and eggs and beat until combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently add in the flour mixture and again mix until just combined, Do not overmix.
- Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips with a spatula until distributed well.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake until the top is a light golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. I tend to under bake these as you do not want to overbake! Let cool and cut into rectangles. Serve with a glass of cold milk!
These are so yummy I had little hands which kept interrupting my pictures! He successfully did steal the Blondie in the end.
