Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  • 2 cups and 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • ¾ cup (1.5 sticks) salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup caramel bits
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • pecans, chopped, optional
  • sea salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.
  2. Mix the flour and baking soda in a bowl and set aside.
  3. With a mixer, cream the butter and sugars together.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  6. Fold in the caramel bits, chocolate chips and pecans (optional). Do not over mix the dough at any point in this process.
  7. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  8. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet and top with sea salt.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. The centers should appear very soft and puffy.
  10. Let cool completely and enjoy with a glass of milk!
